00-02High-voltage system — downstream shutdown

ONE / EVO

Procedure · 00-02

Warning

Scope: downstream breaker and HyperCore DC input checks. Full-system isolation, protected access to pack negative and verification of other circuits require the applicable service procedure.

WARNING

The battery, upstream wiring and vehicle-side DC charging connection remain energised with the main circuit breaker OFF. Do not touch exposed connections. Keep the drive wheel stationary; rotation can generate voltage.

Prerequisites

  • Qualified technician authorised for the electrical work.
  • Motorcycle secured against movement. External charging disconnected and reconnection prevented.
  • Ignition keys, spare keys and remote activation under technician control.
  • Suitable DC voltage tester, leads, proving source and insulated tools. Approved protected access to main battery pack negative.

Test equipment

Use DC voltage mode. Connect the meter leads to the voltage and COM sockets. Prove the tester before and after each voltage check. Do not use a current socket, continuity mode or a non-contact detector to verify absence of voltage.

Shutdown and voltage checks

  1. Set the main circuit breaker to OFF. Keep the switch under direct technician control until the pillion seat has been locked. See Main circuit breaker — location and test points.
  2. Measure between the left-hand downstream breaker connection and main battery pack negative. Left and right are viewed from behind the motorcycle, looking forwards. Specified reading: 0 V DC. Do not use chassis metal or a BMS-controlled negative return as the reference.
  3. Remove the test leads. Refit and lock the pillion seat. Check that the seat is latched securely. Remove the key and retain control of all keys for the duration of the work.
  4. Wait at least five minutes from switching the breaker OFF.
  5. Check the HyperCore DC input: red probe at terminal 2; black probe at terminal 4. Specified reading: 0 V DC. See HyperCore — DC input voltage check.
  6. Verify absence of voltage at every additional circuit to be disturbed using its specified test procedure.

Stop conditions

  • Any voltage other than the specified 0 V DC, an unstable reading, or a failed tester proving check.
  • No approved test procedure or protected probe access for a circuit to be disturbed.
  • Pillion seat cannot be locked, or the work requires the seat to remain removed. Obtain an approved alternative means of securing the breaker OFF.
  • Arcing, heat damage or a short-circuit lockout. Follow Electrical fault — workshop response.
NOTE

The five-minute wait and initial breaker measurement do not verify every circuit. Do not short terminals or bypass protection to discharge stored energy.

00-03Electrical fault — workshop response

ONE / EVO

Procedure · 00-03

Apply this procedure after unexpected arcing, a short-circuit lockout, abnormal heating, smoke, fire or visible electrical damage.

Immediate action

  1. Stop work. Do not retry power-on or charging, clear a lockout, extend precharge time or bypass a protection function.
  2. If safe to do so, switch the main circuit breaker OFF. Secure breaker access, retain all keys and attach a DO NOT ENERGISE notice. If the seat cannot be locked, establish approved alternative isolation control before continuing.
  3. Keep the motorcycle out of service. Protect disconnected power contacts individually and restrain the connectors. Do not energise a dismantled motorcycle to move it.

Workshop control

Record the isolation status, disconnected components, outstanding faults and technician controlling the keys. Obtain that technician’s clearance before changing the vehicle state. Use an approved handling method; drive-wheel rotation can generate voltage.

Diagnosis and return to service

  1. Preserve fault codes, event data, photographs and work records before authorised clearing. Retain diagnostic tool/software identity, CAN command logs, reset times, requested/applied precharge settings and available voltage/current traces. Do not re-energise damaged equipment to retrieve data.
  2. Refer the fault to Avenrà Technical Support. Use only the approved diagnostic procedure for the fitted hardware and software.
  3. Identify and rectify the fault. Assess the controller, wiring, connectors, charging equipment and protection system as applicable. Complete the required electrical and functional checks.
  4. Record the repair, test results and authorisation before controlled re-energisation. Strike-out recovery requires Avenrà Level 9 permissions. A reset or successful power-on is not a return-to-service test.

Smoke or fire

WARNING

Raise the alarm. Evacuate the affected area and call 999 from a safe location. Identify an electric motorcycle with a lithium-ion battery. Do not enter smoke or flames to reach the breaker. Do not attempt to tackle a lithium-ion battery fire.

Do not reconnect or re-energise a fire-damaged motorcycle. Keep it out of service pending emergency-service advice and technical assessment. Breaker OFF is not an extinguishing procedure or proof of safety.

00-04BMS — short-circuit lockout and recovery

ONE / EVO

Service information · 00-04

WARNING

Stop after the first short-circuit detection. Do not reset the BMS or retry power-on to check whether the fault has cleared.

Protection function

The BMS applies a short-circuit lockout when the fault is detected. The maximum precharge-failure allowance is five seconds. A reset does not repair the fault.

Strike-out lockout

Successive resets while a short circuit remains detected cause a permanent strike-out lockout. Recovery requires Level 9 permissions held exclusively by Avenrà.

BMS — short-circuit lockout and recovery
RequirementService instruction
Recovery authorityOnly Avenrà holds the Level 9 permissions required to recover a strike-out lockout. Refer the motorcycle to Avenrà technical support.
Customer and workshop accessCustomers, dealers and third-party repairers cannot perform this recovery. Do not attempt further resets or use an unapproved CAN device to clear it.
Fault repairRecovery does not repair the underlying fault. Keep the vehicle out of service until the fault has been rectified and the required inspection and checks are complete.
Return to serviceAvenrà controls the lockout recovery. Record the repair, test results and authorisation before any controlled re-energisation or return to service.
NOTE

The strike-out threshold and applicable hardware/firmware revisions are not specified in this issue. The limit does not permit additional reset attempts after the first fault.

Fault response: Electrical fault — workshop response.

B-Direct connection to the main battery pack negative.
C-Two-pin charging plug carrying positive and negative. C- denotes the charge-negative function.
CANCommunications connection; complete pinout remains to be confirmed.

Connection inventory

P−, B−, the two-pin charging plug and CAN are the complete external connections. No separate cell-monitoring/balance connector is fitted. P− has a threaded retainer. Charger-side A/B pin letters do not establish BMS-end pin positions.

Connection order — engineering reference only

Recorded order: main breaker OFF; P−; B−; two-pin charging plug and CAN. Reconnection is in reverse order. The relative charging-plug/CAN order and complete isolation verification are not specified. Do not use this sequence alone to disconnect or replace the BMS.

Isolation requirements

  • Disconnect external charging and prevent reconnection. Secure the breaker OFF and apply the relevant voltage checks.
  • Verify charging-branch isolation and absence of current before separating power connectors.
  • Use the specified connector release method, test points, acceptance readings, discharge times, torques and commissioning sequence.
  • Charger discharge interval: five minutes after both AC and DC are disconnected, timed from the later disconnection. BMS discharge time is not specified.

Disconnected conductors

WARNING

The B− lead remains connected to battery negative. Immediately fit a secured insulating cover and restrain the lead clear of the frame and other conductors. Protect every exposed power contact separately. Battery positive and upstream wiring remain energised at the BMS-side charging receptacle.

NOTE

Removing B− does not prove the BMS or charging system de-energised. Do not open the factory-sealed enclosure. See BMS — hardware specifications and replacement policy.

01-08Electrical reconnection — inspection and power-on checks

ONE / EVO

Procedure · 01-08

Warning

These are inspection stages. Complete connector sequences, functional checks and commissioning requirements must be obtained for the work being carried out.

Prerequisites

  • Applicable disconnection, reconnection and commissioning procedure available.
  • Faults rectified and disconnected components ready for correct reconnection.
  • Breaker secured OFF. Exposed battery-connected contacts protected.

Reconnection and pre-power inspection

  1. Reconnect the BMS in the reverse of the specified disconnection order. Resolve the charging-plug/CAN order before work; see BMS — connections and isolation boundary.
  2. Physically inspect all connectors and cabling. Check connection security, insulation, routing and supports. Check for trapped, chafed or exposed conductors. Do not touch energised upstream parts.
  3. Remove tools, loose hardware and test leads. Keep fairings and trim removed for the power-on visual inspection. Retain protection over exposed terminals.
  4. Secure the motorcycle against movement. Keep other personnel clear of the exposed installation.

Power-on inspection

  1. After a satisfactory pre-power inspection, switch the main circuit breaker ON for the specified test.
  2. Inspect visually for arcing, smoke, abnormal heating and fault indications. Do not touch, adjust, tighten or disconnect any component while energised.
  3. If a fault occurs, stop the test and follow Electrical fault — workshop response. Do not reset and retry.
  4. Complete the visual inspection before refitting fairings or trim. Repeat the applicable isolation, discharge wait and voltage verification before hands-on work or refitting that could disturb electrical parts.
NOTE

Complete the model-specific functional checks and return-to-service requirements. A visual inspection or successful power-on alone does not authorise return to service.

ONE / EVO

Service information · 06-03

CAUTION

Do not clamp a hub-motor wheel flat on a standard tyre-machine table. The axle exit must remain clear of the table, clamps and tools. Crushing the phase or Hall wiring can cause electrical failure.

Handling requirements

  • Complete electrical isolation and voltage verification before disconnection.
  • Disconnect phase and Hall connections without cable tension. Do not lift or suspend the wheel by the harness.
  • Use elevated rim clamps or an approved raised rim support. Suspend both axle ends and keep the brake disc, motor covers and cable exit clear.
  • Support and protect the loose harness. Check clearance throughout tyre fitting.
  • Inspect the cable exit and full accessible harness for crushing, chafing or cuts before refitting.

Refitting requirements

Restore the factory spacer stack and anti-rotation washer orientation. Do not infer the correct arrangement from a previously disturbed assembly.

06-05Rear tyre — manual removal

ONE / EVO

Procedure · 06-05

Warning

Use only after approved wheel removal and completion of the equipment, tyre, valve and pressure specifications in Rear tyre — completion requirements.

Prerequisites

  • Wheel removed and motor wiring disconnected using the applicable procedure.
  • Stable, padded, raised rim-support fixture suitable for the assembly mass. Both axle ends, disc, motor covers and wiring clear of the support.
  • Motorcycle-compatible manual bead breaker, rounded tyre levers, rim protectors, drop-centre bead holders, mounting lubricant and valve tools.
  • Suitable eye protection and workshop PPE.
CAUTION

A cloth wrap does not provide adequate cable protection. Fit a non-crushing guard at the axle cable exit and support the harness outside the working area. Do not place the wheel directly on a flat table.

Removal

  1. Record tyre rotation direction and cable routing. Individually insulate and secure the phase terminals. Protect the Hall connector. Do not rotate the motor unnecessarily.
  2. Remove the valve cap and core with the correct tool. Verify complete deflation. If the valve is obstructed, clear the obstruction before bead breaking.
  3. Release both beads using the manual bead breaker in accordance with its instructions. Keep the tool clear of the valve, disc, motor and wiring. Work around each bead until it is free from its seat.
  4. Apply the specified tyre-mounting lubricant and fit rim protectors. Hold the bead opposite the working area in the rim centre well. Lift the first bead over the flange in small, controlled increments.
  5. Reposition the assembly only on a support that maintains axle, disc and harness clearance. Hold the opposite bead in the centre well and remove the remaining bead with controlled lever movements.
  6. Guide the disconnected harness through the tyre opening without pulling the cables or trapping a connector.
CAUTION

If lever force increases, stop and reposition the opposite bead in the centre well. Do not use extra leverage, stand on the sidewall, hammer the rim/motor, or substitute an unprotected general-purpose clamp.

NOTE

Scope: tubeless rear tyre. If an inner tube or different construction is fitted, verify the approved configuration before continuing. Do not split the hub motor or loosen motor-cover fasteners.

06-06Rear tyre — manual installation

ONE / EVO

Procedure · 06-06

Warning

Valve specification, fastening torques, approved tools and inflation limits must be established before tyre installation.

Prerequisites

Maintain the raised rim support and harness protection specified in Rear tyre — manual removal. Use tools compatible with the fixed hub-motor axle.

Inspection

  1. Clean the bead seats, flanges and valve opening with compatible products. Inspect for cracks, distortion, corrosion and burrs. Inspect the axle cable exit and harness.
  2. Verify the replacement tyre size, construction, load rating and speed rating against the approved fitment. Inspect both tyre beads. Do not fit a damaged tyre or use a defective wheel.

Valve and tyre installation

  1. Fit the specified new valve or approved service parts. For a clamp-in valve, install the seal, washer and nut in the specified order and tighten to the valve manufacturer’s torque. Install snap-in valves by their specified method.
  2. Apply purpose-made tyre-mounting lubricant at the specified dilution and quantity. Keep lubricant off the disc and electrical connections.
  3. Align the tyre rotation arrow with forward wheel rotation. Follow the tyre manufacturer’s instructions for any coloured mounting mark.
  4. Pass the disconnected harness through the tyre opening without tension. Fit the first bead from the correct mounting side, keeping the opposite section in the centre well.
  5. Fit the second bead progressively. Use rim protectors and small lever movements. Keep the valve and any sensor clear. Use compatible, non-marring drop-centre bead holders to retain the mounted bead.
  6. Remove and account for all levers, protectors, holders and other mounting aids. Check that nothing is trapped. Inspect both beads, the valve and harness. Transfer the assembly to the specified inflation restraint without loading the axle cable exit.
CAUTION

Do not crush a valve seal by overtightening. Do not use washing-up liquid, oil or grease as mounting lubricant. Do not force both beads over the flange together with cable ties or cargo straps.

CAUTION

If the bead will not advance, stop. Check bead position, lubrication, tyre/rim compatibility and tool clearance. Do not increase lever length or clamping force, or use a hammer.

NOTE

Bead holders are mounting tools, not inflation restraints. Confirm compatibility with the Avenrà rim and fixed hub axle. Tools requiring wire spokes or an open hub may not fit.

06-07Rear tyre — inflation and bead seating

ONE / EVO

Procedure · 06-07

Warning

No universal bead-seating pressure is specified. Obtain the limits for the actual tyre, rim and equipment before inflation.

Prerequisites

  • Permitted bead-seating pressure established for the fitted tyre, rim and equipment. Use the lowest applicable limit.
  • Cold running pressure established for the model and loading condition.
  • Suitable wheel restraint, regulated air supply, accurate gauge, clip-on chuck and remote inflation/deflation control.
  • All fitting tools removed; tyre, rim, valve and harness inspected.
WARNING

Stand clear of the tyre’s likely failure trajectory. Keep other personnel clear. Do not use an unrestricted airline, hold the connector by hand or leave inflation unattended.

Bead seating

  1. Connect the regulated inflation equipment. Remove the valve core for initial seating only where permitted by the tyre and equipment instructions.
  2. Inflate progressively while monitoring actual pressure. Do not exceed the lowest specified seating-pressure limit.
  3. If air escapes around the beads, stop the supply and deflate completely. Check alignment, lubrication, tyre/rim dimensions and valve airflow before retrying. Use only an approved purpose-made bead-seating aid.
  4. If either bead has not seated at the pressure limit, stop and deflate completely. Investigate the cause before another attempt.
  5. Check that the moulded bead-reference line is even relative to the rim flange around both sides. Inspect for distortion, damage or a trapped bead.
WARNING

Do not use a ratchet cargo strap, flammable liquid, ignition or heat to seat a tyre. Popping sounds do not confirm correct seating. Fully deflate before repositioning a bead or applying a fitting tool.

Final inflation and leak check

  1. If the core was removed, disconnect the air supply and fully deflate. Install the specified core at its stated torque. Do not plug the stem with a thumb or install the core against escaping pressure.
  2. Apply sealant only when specified and compatible; see Tyres and sealant — specifications. Reinflate under control to the specified cold running pressure.
  3. Recheck both bead-reference lines. Do not assume the beads remained seated during deflation.
  4. Leak-test both bead interfaces, valve base and valve core with a suitable solution. Investigate any leak; do not mask a defective bead, rim or valve with sealant.
  5. Fit the sealing valve cap. Remove excess lubricant. Check that the disc and harness are clean and undamaged. Record pressure and inspection results.

CAUTION

The 350 ml entry applies only to 160/70B17. Do not apply it to 160/70R17 or 160/70ZR17. Obtain the manufacturer’s dose for an unlisted marking. A dosage-chart entry does not approve tyre fitment.

Do not use Tru-Tension’s bicycle formulation. Orange Seal Endurance is not an approved alternative; motorcycle suitability and dose have not been established. Do not mix products.

Fitment checks

Verify the tyre make, model, construction, load index, speed rating, rim, valve and any sensor. Rim references: ONE 17 × 3.5 in; EVO 17 × 6.0 in. Reconcile the EVO rim designation with the type-approved specification and fitted rim marking before replacement selection.

Application

  1. Complete bead seating, inspection and the balance check required by the sealant manufacturer.
  2. Disconnect air and fully deflate. Remove the valve core.
  3. Inject the specified quantity. Refit the core and inflate under control to the specified pressure.
  4. Check seating and leakage. Distribute the sealant without straining the rear harness or exposing generated voltage.
  5. Carry out the manufacturer’s short, steady distribution ride only after complete wheel refitting and commissioning. Record product and quantity.

Avenrà Control · Android

08-01Avenrà Control — Android installation and connection

ONE / EVO

Procedure · 08-01

Application

Avenrà Control provides Bluetooth access to supported HyperCore controllers and offline technician training. Android only; Android 8.0 or later and Bluetooth Low Energy are required for a physical-controller session. These instructions apply to version 0.3.0.

NOTE

Release status: engineering build. Version 0.3.0 includes controller login, parameter writes, readback, flash-save requests and restart checks. The physical write/save path requires controlled verification on the fitted controller before routine service use. Training uses a virtual controller only.

Control is separate from Phone as Key — pairing and operation, HALO V2 — getting started and connecting the motorcycle and the BMS application. It does not provide keyless-start pairing, battery-cell monitoring, balancing or BMS recovery.

Install or update

  1. Obtain Avenra-Control-0.3.0-engineering.apk from Avenrà. Open the file on the Android phone. If requested, permit installation from the application used to open the APK.
  2. Install over the existing Avenrà Control application. Do not uninstall or clear its data if saved configurations must be retained.
  3. Open Avenrà Control. No app account is required. For operation without a motorcycle, use Avenrà Control — technician training. A real controller may require its own password and authorisation.

Physical-session prerequisites

  • Motorcycle stationary, fully assembled and serviceable. Switch the ignition ON as described in Ignition — key fob start and automatic power-off.
  • No electrical work in progress. Do not remove isolation controls or energise a dismantled or faulted motorcycle to establish an app connection.
  • Phone within Bluetooth range. Other controller applications disconnected and closed.

Connect to the controller

  1. Enable Bluetooth. If TRAINING is displayed, open Controller → Exit training. Select Scan for controllers.
  2. Allow Nearby Devices access when requested. On Android 8–11, allow Location access and enable the phone’s Location setting for scanning.
  3. Select the intended controller from the nearby-device list. Check the displayed name and Bluetooth address against the unit being serviced.
  4. Wait for CONNECTED and Bluetooth connected. Check the received controller serial and firmware where available. A Bluetooth connection alone does not confirm that data is being received.
  5. Open Live and check that fresh readings appear. Keep the app in the foreground. Use Avenrà Control — authorised controller programming before changing any physical-controller setting.

End the session

  1. Complete or resolve any pending programming operation and restart check. Export records that must be retained.
  2. Open Controller → Disconnect. Park the motorcycle securely and leave it unused for two minutes to allow automatic ignition power-off. See Ignition — key fob start and automatic power-off.
NOTE

Backgrounding the app or opening Android’s file picker disconnects real Bluetooth. Reconnect through Controller when returning. Do not interrupt a write or save operation.

08-02Avenrà Control — live readings and fault status

ONE / EVO

Operating information · 08-02

Avenrà Control — live readings and fault status
ScreenFunction
LiveMotor RPM, pack voltage, battery current, electrical input power, motor/controller temperatures and throttle voltage, where received.
DiagnosticsController fault flags, supported input/status signals and recorded telemetry.
SetupReceived settings, adjustment drafts, saved configurations, controller login and reviewed apply/save operations.
ControllerBluetooth connection, device identity, firmware information and diagnostic export.

Readings

  1. Confirm that TRAINING is not displayed before recording physical-vehicle test results.
  2. Open Live. Read the value and its unit. Motor speed is shown in rpm; the app does not convert it to road speed.
  3. Treat — as unavailable or expired data. Readings older than three seconds are not displayed as current values.
  4. Open Diagnostics. Record active fault flags and relevant input statuses before disconnecting.
NOTE

Electrical input power is controller telemetry, not measured wheel power. Pack voltage/current do not provide cell condition, battery state of charge or remaining range.

Status interpretation

Waiting for fault status means that fresh fault data is unavailable. No active fault flags reports the controller’s current flags only; it is not a complete vehicle inspection. Side stand mapping and raw Hall A/B/C levels are not available in this release.

WARNING

App readings do not verify electrical isolation. Use the specified voltage tester and physical test points in High-voltage system — downstream shutdown. A displayed 0 V or lost Bluetooth connection does not establish that a circuit is de-energised.

For arcing, abnormal heating or a short-circuit lockout, follow Electrical fault — workshop response. Connect does not clear BMS lockouts.

08-03Avenrà Control — regeneration, ride modes and setup drafts

ONE / EVO

Operating information · 08-03

Read received settings

  1. Connect to the intended controller, or select a training bike. Open Setup → Ride.
  2. Read Regeneration activation, Brake regeneration and Maximum regeneration where received. Regeneration settings apply across all three programmed ride modes.
  3. Select Mode 1, Mode 2 or Mode 3 to inspect its programmed profile. These tabs do not switch the motorcycle’s active riding mode.
Avenrà Control — regeneration, ride modes and setup drafts
ItemInterpretation
Speed settingController-relative percentage; not road speed or a percentage of an approved speed limit.
Mode 1 / Mode 2 current ratiosRatios relative to the shared battery and phase current limits shown in Mode 3.
Mode 3 current limitsShared controller battery-current and phase-current settings; not battery pack ratings.
Setup → ThrottleThrottle minimum/maximum voltage and acceleration-response step. The step is a controller setting, not a physical acceleration unit.
Setup → ProtectionController voltage and temperature thresholds; not BMS cell-protection settings. Some fields are read/draft only.
Setup → ApplyController authorisation, effective-value review, apply, readback, save request and restart verification.

Prepare a draft

  1. Select Adjust beside a fresh received setting. Enter the proposed value and select Save draft.
  2. Compare Received and Proposed. Save draft does not transmit the change to the controller.
  3. Select Review & apply to open the review workflow. For a physical controller, follow Avenrà Control — authorised controller programming. For a virtual controller, follow Avenrà Control — technician training.
  4. Use Export draft to retain a proposal and its baseline, or Discard to clear pending proposals.
CAUTION

Input ranges and successful validation do not establish an approved motorcycle setting. Use only the authorised configuration for the fitted hardware and software. No approved performance maps are bundled.

NOTE

Disconnecting, changing controllers or backgrounding a real session clears unsaved drafts. An interrupted apply may already have changed the controller; clearing a draft does not undo a transmitted change. Inspect the retained write report and fresh settings.

08-04Avenrà Control — saved configurations

ONE / EVO

Procedure · 08-04

Save a settings snapshot

  1. With fresh controller data available, open Setup → Saved.
  2. Enter a Snapshot name that identifies the motorcycle and service session. Select Save snapshot.
  3. Select Compare on the saved entry. Review current and saved values before using the record.
  4. Select Export snapshot to retain a JSON copy outside the app.
NOTE

A snapshot contains supported received settings only. Pending draft changes are excluded. Up to 20 snapshots can be stored on the phone. A snapshot may be partial; it is not a complete controller backup or a native .heb file.

Import and compare

  1. Select Import snapshot and choose a compatible snapshot JSON file.
  2. Reconnect to the controller after the file picker closes. Open the imported entry and select Compare.
  3. Check the controller identity and displayed current → saved values. — indicates that a current reading is unavailable.

Restore to draft

Restore to draft prepares a proposal; it does not itself transmit settings. Matching protocol, complete fresh controller identity, fresh target settings and an empty existing draft are required. Read any displayed blocker. Physical application is a separate operation: Avenrà Control — authorised controller programming.

CAUTION

Saved or imported settings are not approved Avenrà maps. Do not transfer a configuration between motorcycles on model name alone. Training snapshots cannot restore to a physical-controller draft.

Delete a snapshot

Open the entry with Compare, select Delete, then confirm Delete snapshot. This removes the stored entry from the phone.

08-05Avenrà Control — recording and diagnostic export

ONE / EVO

Procedure · 08-05

Record telemetry — physical or training session

  1. Connect to the controller or select a training bike. Open Diagnostics → Start recording. Training recordings are identified as simulated data.
  2. Keep the app in the foreground. Select RPM, Voltage, Current, Motor or Controller to view the required graph.
  3. Select Stop recording at the end of the session. Recording also stops on disconnect, when the app is backgrounded, or at its 15-minute limit.
  4. Select Export or Export diagnostics and choose the destination in Android’s file picker. Export before closing the app or replacing the recording.
NOTE

Sampling interval: 0.5 seconds; maximum 1,800 samples. Samples use the latest fresh received values. Missing or stale readings leave graph gaps. Recording is not a calibrated measurement or a continuous capture of every controller event.

Save and retain the record

  1. Check for Export saved. If Export not saved appears, select Save again and choose a valid destination. Discard export deletes the pending captured export.
  2. Record the motorcycle identifier, app version, controller/module identification, firmware where available, phone model, Android version and the reported symptom with the exported file.
  3. Provide the file to Avenrà Technical Support through the agreed support channel. The app does not upload it automatically.
NOTE

The file picker disconnects real Bluetooth after the export is captured. Diagnostic exports include device identity, available telemetry and any retained write report. Raw packet payloads are omitted for authenticated sessions; passwords are not saved or exported.

Replace a recording

New recording asks for confirmation before replacing captured samples. Export the existing recording first if it must be retained. Clear recording removes the captured session.

WARNING

Operate the phone only while the motorcycle is stationary. Do not perform an unapproved powered-wheel test to obtain a changing graph. Use the applicable workshop test procedure for any powered test.

Programming reports

After an apply, save or restart check, use Export diagnostics before selecting Close report. Close report clears the pending verification record. Do not close it while persistence remains unresolved. Export is unavailable while a write operation is busy.

08-08Avenrà Control — authorised controller programming

ONE / EVO

Controlled workshop procedure · 08-08

NOTE

Version 0.3.0 is an engineering release. Use this workflow only for Avenrà-authorised controlled verification on the identified controller and configuration. Software checks and training results do not qualify the physical write/save path for routine service.

Prerequisites

  • Qualified technician; correct motorcycle, controller and Bluetooth module identified; approved target settings and applicable commissioning checks available.
  • Motorcycle fully assembled, secured stationary and in Park. Motor stopped. Fresh fault-free controller status available. No electrical isolation or dismantling work in progress.
  • Compatible newer-CRC protocol, complete fresh controller identity, controller-reported local write permission and supported unlocked protection state. Required Bluetooth capability present.
  • Stable vehicle power and a charged phone. Keep Avenrà Control in the foreground. Close other controller apps. Do not start a write with an unresolved fault or pending verification report.
WARNING

Confirm and apply to bike changes the controller immediately. Save draft, apply, flash save and restart verification are separate stages. An interrupted operation may leave some changes applied. There is no automatic rollback or retry.

Authorise and prepare

  1. Connect to the intended controller. Record its identity and received settings. Retain a snapshot or diagnostic export before editing; reconnect after exporting.
  2. Open Setup → Apply. Enter the legitimate Controller password and select Log in to controller. This local route accepts 6–13 printable ASCII characters. Passwords are not saved or exported.
  3. Wait for fresh controller access status confirming authorisation. Resolve any displayed blocker through Avenrà Technical Support; do not bypass it.
  4. Prepare only supported, authorised settings using Adjust → Save draft. For a saved configuration, Restore to draft prepares the proposal only.

Review and apply

  1. Open Review & apply or Setup → Apply → Review draft.
  2. Compare the received and effective target values with the approved setup. The controller’s resolution may round a requested value. Verify the effective value, not just the number entered.
  3. Select Confirm and apply to bike only when the displayed changes are correct. Keep the motorcycle stationary and the app foregrounded.
  4. Wait for the Controller write report. Readback confirmed must show every expected settings word confirmed. Bluetooth transmission completion alone is not acceptance.
  5. If readback is incomplete, interrupted or mismatched, stop. Inspect the report and actual fresh settings before any further action. Do not assume that nothing changed.

Request save and verify persistence

  1. After complete fresh readback, select Request flash save. Wait for Save requested. This confirms a request, not persistent storage.
  2. Carry out a physical vehicle power-off and power-on cycle using the applicable Avenrà procedure. Do not merely disconnect and reconnect Bluetooth. Keep the motorcycle secured and do not operate the throttle.
  3. Reconnect to the same controller. Wait for fresh identity and settings, then select I’ve power-cycled — check settings.
  4. Check that Restart check reports Matches after reported cycle. The app compares settings after reconnection; the technician remains responsible for performing the physical cycle.
  5. If Values differ or verification remains pending, keep the motorcycle out of service. Export the report and refer the discrepancy to Avenrà Technical Support.

Record and release

  1. Select Export diagnostics to retain the write report with the service record before selecting Close report.
  2. Complete the prescribed model-specific functional and return-to-service checks. Matching settings after restart do not, by themselves, authorise vehicle release.
NOTE

The physical-controller report is retained across disconnection and app restart until closed. Close report clears the pending verification record; it does not revert controller settings. An app login or write operation does not authorise BMS reset, protection bypass or a power increase.

HALO V2 · Connected motorcycle & navigation

09-01HALO V2 — getting started and connecting the motorcycle

ONE / EVO

Owner application · 09-01

These instructions apply to HALO V2 2.17.1. HALO combines ownership, navigation, safety and live HyperCore information. Live HyperCore Bluetooth is intended for a compatible Android phone using Chrome or the installed HALO web app.

NOTE

HALO is separate from Phone as Key — pairing and operation and Avenrà Control — Android installation and connection. Phone as Key authorises the motorcycle START/STOP button. Avenrà Control is the parked technician/controller interface. HALO is the connected rider application.

Before connecting

  • Park the motorcycle securely and switch normal vehicle power ON.
  • Enable Bluetooth on the phone. Keep the phone within normal Bluetooth range of the motorcycle.
  • Open HALO and sign in to the owner account linked to the motorcycle. Live HyperCore pairing is performed from the Vehicle area, not from the phone’s ordinary Bluetooth settings.

Connect HyperCore

  1. Open Vehicle → HyperCore.
  2. Select Connect HyperCore ECU. The phone opens its Bluetooth device chooser. Select the intended HyperCore ECU and allow the connection.
  3. Return to the HyperCore screen and select Connect HyperCore BMS. The BMS chooser deliberately shows nearby Bluetooth devices because the battery module may not advertise a service filter that a browser can safely use.
  4. Select the battery/BMS module, not the ECU. In the phone-owned chooser the BMS firmware name normally begins ANT. HALO may identify it in the app as the HyperCore BMS or Avenrà BMS.
  5. Wait for live readings. HALO reports HyperCore live only when both ECU and BMS are delivering valid telemetry. If only one module is live it reports HyperCore partial and continues to show the data that is available.
NOTE

The ECU and BMS are two independent Bluetooth peripherals, so each chooser must be opened by a separate rider tap. HALO does not silently pair a new module or substitute another nearby device.

What the two links provide

HALO V2 — getting started and connecting the motorcycle
ModuleHALO data source
HyperCore BMSState of charge, pack voltage/current/power, battery temperature, cell minimum/maximum and cell spread.
HyperCore ECURPM, line current, phase current, motor/controller temperature, throttle, modulation, gear, brake state and faults.
GPSHALO ride speed, journey distance, navigation, Ride Memories and Emergency Assist use calibrated GPS rather than diagnostic ECU speed.
NOTE

If a BMS link is lost during Ride mode, see HALO V2 — navigation and Ride mode for Reconnect BMS and HALO V2 — common connection, camera and navigation problems for recovery.

09-02HALO V2 — permissions and data-sharing choices

ONE / EVO

Owner application · 09-02

HALO requests device permissions only when a feature needs them. Device permissions and HALO data-sharing choices are separate: Android/browser permissions allow a phone feature to operate, while the settings inside Halo Safety control what the rider chooses to share through HALO.

Device permissions

HALO V2 — permissions and data-sharing choices
PermissionUsed by HALO
Bluetooth / nearby devicesConnecting to the HyperCore ECU and BMS.
LocationCurrent-location route planning, Ride mode, parking-location capture, Emergency Assist and other location-sharing features that the rider enables.
CameraCamera alignment, Ride Memories and the optional Emergency Assist incident camera. HALO does not request microphone audio for these camera features.
Motion / orientation where requestedRide dynamics and supported incident-detection functions. Some operating systems request this only when a ride starts.

Change a permission after it was denied

  1. End any active ride before changing phone permissions.
  2. Open the phone settings for HALO or for the browser/site used to install HALO. On Android this is normally under Settings → Apps → HALO or the browser → Permissions / Site settings. Menu wording varies by phone and Android version.
  3. Allow the permission required for the feature: Bluetooth / Nearby devices, Location or Camera as applicable.
  4. Return to HALO and repeat the action that needs the permission. A previously denied camera can be tested from Ride → Check camera alignment; Bluetooth can be retried from Vehicle → HyperCore.
NOTE

If HALO is installed to the Home Screen but the required permission is not listed against HALO itself, check the site permissions for the HALO website in the browser that installed it.

Update HALO data-sharing choices

  1. Open More → Halo Safety.
  2. Review Rider & next of kin and, if wanted, the Optional medical information section.
  3. Scroll to Emergency & data choices.
  4. Switch each choice on or off as required. Available choices include Emergency Assist, Incident camera — rear view, Also attempt front-facing view, Next-of-kin incident alerts, Include optional medical details, Next-of-kin proxy authority, Law or court requests and Road-safety research.
  5. Select Save safety settings. HALO confirms when the updated settings have been saved.

Every choice in Emergency & data choices is optional and can be changed later. Avenrà test ride monitoring is a separate one-ride option on the same Halo Safety screen; arming it does not itself enable Emergency Assist, medical sharing or the camera.

WARNING

Emergency Assist is an assistance and incident-information feature. HALO does not itself confirm that 999 has been contacted.

Incident camera versus Ride Memories

The optional Incident camera is not the same as Ride Memories. With current consent, the incident camera can keep a rolling rear-camera buffer of up to the final 60 seconds while Ride mode remains visible. Audio is always off. Nothing is uploaded during the cancellation countdown; footage is discarded after a confirmed cancellation and is sent only after Emergency Assist has durably activated. Ride Memories are controlled separately for each ride and remain private on the device unless the rider deliberately exports a copy.

NOTE

For normal ride recording and dual-camera use, see HALO V2 — camera alignment and Ride Memories.

09-03HALO V2 — navigation and Ride mode

ONE / EVO

Owner application · 09-03

HALO can plan a route, show mapped focus-zone advice and run Ride mode with calibrated GPS speed, route guidance and optional HyperCore telemetry. Route planning needs an internet connection; a saved ride can remain viewable offline.

Plan a route

  1. Open Ride.
  2. Leave the start as Current location or enter another starting point, then enter the destination.
  3. Select the intended Ride mode and check Starting charge. A live BMS reading can populate starting charge; otherwise confirm or adjust the value manually.
  4. If required, open Route preferences. Choose Balanced, Fastest or Scenic, then set Avoid motorways, Focus-zone advice and Voice guidance as required.
  5. Set any optional Ride Memories or AC Type 2 charging choices before route calculation. See HALO V2 — camera alignment and Ride Memories and HALO V2 — AC Type 2 charging navigation.
  6. Select Find routes. HALO compares the returned routes and shows distance, estimated time, mapped focus zones and estimated arrival charge where available.
  7. Select the preferred route, then select Start guidance.

Ride without a destination

For a recorded ride without navigation, open Ride and select Start free ride. The same per-ride camera, HyperCore and safety settings still apply.

During Ride mode

  • Use the route map for the road view and manoeuvres. HALO can switch to its simplified Dash view for a larger next instruction, distance, GPS speed, charge, estimated range, maximum power and trip display.
  • Focus-zone advice is advisory. Follow road signs, visible conditions and the Highway Code.
  • If the selected BMS link drops, Ride mode continues. Use Reconnect BMS on the ride map or dash. HALO reconnects only to the exact BMS previously selected for the current rider and motorcycle.
  • If there is no remembered BMS selection, return to Vehicle → HyperCore after the ride and use Connect HyperCore BMS to make a fresh selection.
  • If HALO detects that the route has been left, it can request a replacement road route; charging journeys are re-evaluated using the current battery information where available.
NOTE

A Bluetooth failure does not end an active ride. Browser or operating-system suspension can still pause updates. Keep HALO open for the most reliable ride, camera and telemetry experience.

09-04HALO V2 — camera alignment and Ride Memories

ONE / EVO

Owner application · 09-04

Ride Memories is a per-ride choice. It starts OFF for a new ride and must be enabled before setting off. Footage is stored privately for the signed-in HALO account on that device.

Check the camera mount before riding

  1. Park the motorcycle and secure the phone in its intended riding position.
  2. Open Ride and select Check camera alignment.
  3. Allow Camera access if the phone asks.
  4. Check the Rear · road view and Front · rider view. A compatible phone can show both; a phone that permits one camera at a time provides buttons to check each view in turn.
  5. Close the preview before starting the ride. The alignment preview is live only: nothing is recorded, saved or uploaded.

Record a ride

  1. In Ride, switch on Record Ride Memories.
  2. To request dual-camera recording, switch on Include front camera.
  3. Plan the route and select Start guidance, or select Start free ride for a ride without navigation.
  4. Keep HALO visible and keep the screen awake while riding. Ride Memories pauses while HALO is hidden.
  5. At the end of the ride, open Activity to review saved Ride Memories.

When the phone supports simultaneous cameras, HALO records front and rear together. If the phone or WebView cannot keep both cameras active, HALO falls back safely to rear-only recording and the ride continues.

NOTE

Audio is always off. Footage and time-synchronised GPS telemetry stay in HALO’s private browser storage and are never uploaded automatically. Playback can show estimated speed, ride time and location. Exporting creates a new shareable copy and does not alter the private original.

CAUTION

Clearing HALO app/site data removes locally stored Ride Memories. Device storage can also be reclaimed by the browser unless persistent storage has been granted. HALO will refuse to start Ride Memories if available storage is below its minimum requirement.

NOTE

The optional Emergency Assist incident camera is governed by separate consent under HALO V2 — permissions and data-sharing choices.

09-05HALO V2 — AC Type 2 charging navigation

EVO

Owner application · 09-05

HALO can estimate the quickest road journey including AC Type 2 charging stops. The planner is for AC Type 2 only and caps charging power at 6.6 kW at the motorcycle. It does not plan CCS/DC charging.

NOTE

HALO V2 2.17.1 currently models the EVO 6.6 kW AC input. It is not the charging-time model for the ONE 3.3 kW onboard charger; do not apply the 6.6 kW charging estimates to ONE.

Plan a journey with charging stops

  1. Open Ride, set the destination, Ride mode and Starting charge.
  2. Open AC Type 2 charging stops and enable Plan the quickest journey including charging.
  3. Set I'm carrying a Type 2 cable correctly. Leave it OFF when relying only on Tethered Type 2 charge points with an attached cable. Turn it ON if you are carrying a Type 2 cable so HALO may also use socket-only Type 2 charge points.
  4. Check Usable battery capacity (kWh), Consumption (Wh per mile) and Minimum arrival reserve (%). HALO may suggest a consumption value from suitable measured rides and may use a live BMS starting charge, but the rider must verify the values.
  5. Enable I have checked the starting charge and battery values.
  6. Select Find routes. HALO searches the road corridor for suitable Open Charge Map Type 2 locations and evaluates the route and charging time together.
  7. Review the selected route and every planned charging stop, then select Start guidance.

Read a planned charging stop

Each planned stop identifies whether it is Tethered Type 2 · cable attached or Type 2 socket · use your cable, the usable charging power up to the bike’s 6.6 kW limit, estimated arrival SOC, target departure SOC, charging time, stop overhead, address and directory access information.

WARNING

Availability unknown means HALO has no live bay/charger availability. Open Charge Map is directory data and may be incomplete or out of date. Check charger status, access, opening times, payment method and cable arrangement before relying on a stop.

Planner assumptions

  • A 10% consumption margin is included in the charging estimate.
  • Charging efficiency is estimated at 90%.
  • Charging above 80% SOC is modelled more slowly.
  • One-phase charging is assumed and the motorcycle input is capped at 6.6 kW even if the charge point is rated higher.
  • Weather, riding speed, battery temperature, queues and charger opening hours can change the real journey.
CAUTION

If the battery/starting charge falls, cable choice, usable capacity, consumption or reserve changes, or the charging plan becomes stale, HALO blocks departure on that plan. Select Find routes again before setting off.

HALO V2 — common connection, camera and navigation problems
SymptomCheck / action
HyperCore will not connectCheck normal motorcycle power, phone Bluetooth/Nearby Devices permission and range. Open Vehicle → HyperCore and start each ECU/BMS chooser with a fresh tap.
HALO says “That device is the HyperCore ECU, not the BMS”The ECU was selected in the BMS chooser. Close the message, choose Connect HyperCore BMS again and select the battery module, normally shown by firmware name beginning ANT in the phone chooser.
BMS connection times out or is refusedAnother app may hold the single BMS Bluetooth link. Fully close vendor/diagnostic apps on this phone and other phones, stop their auto-reconnect, then try again.
BMS shows Connected / No dataThe Bluetooth link opened but the module did not answer. Switch the motorcycle off and on normally, make sure no other app is connected, then disconnect and pair the BMS again.
BMS drops during a rideRide mode continues. Select Reconnect BMS. If HALO no longer has a remembered selection, make a new selection later from Vehicle → HyperCore → Connect HyperCore BMS.
Current location or navigation cannot startAllow Location permission and obtain a reliable GPS fix. Route planning needs a connection to the internet; check mobile data/Wi-Fi and try Find routes again.
Camera alignment or Ride Memories says camera permission is offAllow camera permission for HALO/browser in the phone settings, return to Ride and use Check camera alignment again while stationary. Close other camera apps if the camera is busy.
Include front camera is enabled but only rear recordsThis phone or WebView cannot keep both cameras active simultaneously. A rear-only fallback is expected and does not stop the ride.
Ride Memories will not startCheck available device storage. HALO requires at least 64 MB available at ride start and can stop recording if private local storage becomes full or cannot keep up.
Charging route is rejected at Start guidanceThe battery, cable preference, charging inputs or plan validity changed. Re-check the values and select Find routes again.
Charging stop shows Availability unknownHALO has directory details but no live charger/bay status. Open the charger details and verify the stop independently before travel.

Escalation information

For a persistent HyperCore problem, record the exact HALO message, the technical detail line/code shown by the connection card where present, motorcycle identifier, phone model, Android/browser version and whether another BMS/controller app had been used. Do not repeatedly power-cycle a motorcycle that also has an electrical fault.

NOTE

Phone key problems are covered separately in Phone as Key — pairing and operation. Engineering controller access is covered in Avenrà Control — connection and data faults.

APPENDIX A · INVESTIGATION RECORD

Disconnected charging connector — thermal incident

Case study — not a service procedure

This appendix records a past workshop incident. It is separate from the service instructions and is excluded from manual search results.

Return to service manual

The investigation identified arcing from a disconnected charge-control-module connector as the cause of the initial failure. Repeated reset and power-on attempts after short-circuit lockout caused the subsequent HyperCore fire. The BMS functioned as intended.

Evidence reviewed

Vehicle inspection, workshop CCTV and BMS event data. Arcing marks were found on the chassis. No arcing was found on the other cabling inspected.

Recorded sequence

Disconnected charging connector — thermal incident
StageRecorded event
DismantlingThe tank and charge-control module were removed. All charging-module connectors were left disconnected; none had been insulated.
First energisationA workshop staff member switched the main breaker ON to move the motorcycle. Arcing from the disconnected charge-control-module connector caused the initial failure, with sparking at HyperCore.
Fault sequenceAfter reconnection, an almost immediate precharge-failure warning was followed by BMS short-circuit detection and lockout.
Reset attemptsApproximately 10–15 resets via an open-source CAN device not approved by Avenrà. Resets within about a second were followed by renewed short-circuit detections and lockouts.
Precharge requestsRequests for precharge times of 10, 15 and 20 seconds were rejected. The BMS enforced its maximum precharge allowance of 5 seconds.
Controller fireRepeated retries caused the HyperCore fire. On the final power attempt, the controller caught fire within seconds.
Breaker OFFThe breaker was switched OFF; the visible fire ceased afterwards.

Investigation findings

Disconnected charging connector — thermal incident
FindingAvenrà investigation conclusion
Initial failureArcing from the disconnected charge-control-module connector caused the failure.
Resulting fireRepeated retries after short-circuit detections and lockouts caused the HyperCore fire.
BMS operationThe BMS functioned as intended: it detected the fault, applied short-circuit lockouts and rejected requests above its 5-second precharge ceiling.
NOTE

The reset count and event intervals are approximate. The five-second value was the enforced precharge ceiling; it was not a measured short-circuit trip time.

Subsequent protection change

A strike-out limit was added to permanently lock the BMS after successive resets while a short circuit remained detected. Recovery is controlled by Avenrà using Level 9 permissions.
