We’re attempting the unthinkable: taking a standard, learner-legal 125cc-class motorcycle to 150mph, setting a world record for the World’s Fastest L3e-A1 Motorcycle.
The rules of the L3e-A1 license class limit motorcycles to 11kW of continuous power. In practical terms, a stock Ampèra EVO will hit roughly 109mph. Anything beyond that is considered “impossible.”
But physics says otherwise. With careful engineering, software optimization, and meticulous planning, calculations show the EVO can reach 150–160mph. Target 150 is our attempt to prove it in the real world.
Achieving 150mph isn’t about cheating aerodynamics—it’s about maximizing every ounce of performance. Drafting an Audi RS6 Avant reduces drag dramatically. The car punches the hole; the bike surfs the vacuum.
We’ve written custom code for the Ampèra 850 Controller to implement extreme Field Weakening. By overdriving the motor RPM while protecting thermal windows, we push the unit to nearly 50kW—all from stock hardware.
This attempt uses the Ampèra HyperCore motor (stock winding) and 72V 160Ah battery. No exotic prototypes. Every joule, amp, and degree of heat is accounted for as we push production spec to its mechanical limit.
We have a 60-second window before the motor hits its thermal ceiling. Between runs, forced-air blowers and dry ice cool the stator for the return leg, ensuring the two-way average record is valid.

Emergency services will be deployed on-site throughout the duration of the attempt. Dedicated medical response units will be stationed trackside to ensure immediate intervention is available if required.
